Our Australian client seeks quintessential London backdrop to style their formal wear, tailoring & suits for grooms
Did you know Ashford Daly Photography also work with International destination clients from overseas on commercial advertorial, marketing and promotional photo shoot assignments?
We’ve had the absolute pleasure of being referred to a new International Client from Australia and welcoming them to our photographic portfolio earlier this year.
And we’ve recently conducted an advertising photo shoot session with our client Peppers Formal Wear in central London, with the resulting images being used for all their major advertisement campaigns, articles and features being planned for over the next twelve months, which will be appearing in all the leading Australian wedding and bridal magazines, and in the main high end publications across the Australian cities, many as glossy double page spreads - and that’s for starters.
No easy brief as professional photographers know, commercial advertising photo shoots are tough, they need to be of a certain calibre, and we needed to deliver and convey the message, style and a certain brand look the client was hoping to attain with us, given our photography style and in the post production finishing we apply.
And this was no ordinary referral.
This was a strong personal recommendation from another multi award winning master photographer from Australia. Gosh – no pressure then!
The referral was made by Graham Monro, one of only two Canon EOS Master Photographers, and whom is now renowned for his celebrity wedding and social photography with his Sydney studio GM Photographics, and previously hailed for big budget commercial advertising, editorial, and sport photographic work and magazine campaigns worldwide. We worked, photographed and travelled with Graham in The Mediterranean and in Europe last year, and have collaborated on a few photographic items since. We have also interviewed Graham as part of The RAW Files series by Ashford Daly.
You could say we have a very close and solid connection, and formed a firm bond – Indeed in reality a truly amazing friendship has developed, and a mutual respect for each other’s work either side of the world and across the oceans, one where we are more than happy to refer, recommend, and actively promote each other, providing prospective clients, other businesses and the industry, the benefit of our collective knowledge and technical photography skills.
We are thrilled to report, our clients are eager, excited and thoroughly delighted with the final photographic portfolio set, photographs and picture images presented to them, and are as a result, accelerating their advertising plans and PR programme to make immediate advantage of the images we captured and photographed for them whilst in London. Church, garden and country weddings are the ideal venues for traditional English Morning Suits. The Grey Morning Suit is ideal for an early day wedding, the Charcoal for early afternoon and the Black as the afternoon ends. The beautiful cutaway coat and pinstripe trouser combine to create the classic daytime wedding suit.
For a casual day wedding Peppers offers beige, grey and black suits that are beautifully cut to fit in timeless fabrics. These can be worn with or without a tie for laid back garden and beach ceremonies. To add a touch more formality, wear a silk tie and soft toned waistcoat – perfect for a restaurant or church wedding.
Afternoon weddings are often quite formal and the grooms’ attire should reflect this. Use one of Peppers plain black wool suits with a wing collar and a cravat or a silk tie. Waistcoats can be detailed in a colour to compliment the Bride. The groomsmen can wear a tie and waistcoat that works well with the bridesmaids but avoid loud colours – a subtle touch is always best.
Evening weddings offer the opportunity to dress with timeless formality. Dinner suits are worn with dress shirt and bow tie for classic Black Tie or, for a modern alternative, a cravat and waistcoat. White Tie ceremonies require Evening Tails and white Marcella shirt, waistcoat and bow tie to be worn.
Peppers advises that the bride and groom come into store around three months prior to the wedding to start the booking. The groomsmen should be measured no later than six weeks prior to guarantee availability. In peak times such as autumn and spring you should allow slightly more time.
