Lizzie Griffiths premier make-up artistry through Cheshire, and the North West region of the UK

Why is wedding day and event make-up artistry and consultation so important for your photographs.

It can make or break your look, it can set your photographs and memories apart from anyone else, it can quite simply make your wedding day, when it’s right and expertly applied by a professional, who has been trained and worked in the industry for years.

We always ask clients to let us know which suppliers they are booking on their wedding day or if they need some help, will make suggestions to clients for attaining their ‘look’ for a specific photo assignment.

To us, some assignments which mark special occasions, like a wedding, one of the most key moments of your life, or landmark birthdays, or anniversary dates, bridal boudoir or cover magazine style photo shoot sessions, make-up is necessary and essential and will provide you with that proper finishing touch.

For women, it is very important to be flawless for their big day, that the make up lasts for the duration of the ceremony, the reception, and through to the evening celebrations too, and that you feel at your ease whether you are wearing more or indeed less (or so it might appear) than you might normally do make-up wise.

Good make up artists and consultants should always offer you a trial before your wedding day. They may charge for this and then deduct from their fee if booked, or they may not – their time and craft is after all their livelihood.

We urge you to seek recommendations from your photographer if you are unsure - they do after all know who’s who in the industry and they’ve done their own research, and maybe hired a few of the better suppliers along the way which they are happy and willing to refer to their own client base.

To us, make-up is imperative to great photographs for any photography shoot or photo assignment – as it is for you to feel confident, beautiful and also at your ease through the day, to be primed and pampered for your husband to be, the groom, the man that your are going to be marrying and spending the rest of your life with. You want everyone to go WOW, how stunning is the bride – she looks amazing – can’t wait to see her bridal portraiture…..

Yes for us, a bride’s make-up, applied by a professional is very necessary – firstly you don’t have to stress on the day, you can place yourself confidently in their experienced hands, and having met them and had the trial beforehand you will know how long it will take for the application, and can therefore allow enough time in your schedule, and you will understand how long it will actually last on the day, what touch ups might be required through the day, and also who will be attending to you – you won’t then have to guess, panic or rush trying to sort yourself out on the already hectic morning of your wedding – you will be nervous enough, thinking about your vows, the family all arriving, the guests, your dress, the walk down the aisle… you will be able to relax and enjoy your bridal preparations.

We have a number of make-up artists and consultants we work with, across the UK, for different styles of photography, for weddings, for commercial, advertising and magazine work, for striking looks, and for gorgeous bridal wedding day make-up, here in Cheshire, and in the Berkshire, Surrey, Home Counties and London regions. We never recommend anyone we haven’t worked with, we have to be confident in what they can offer, how they deliver, and in their finished work too.

We know exactly what our recommended suppliers promise, and we also know whom to mention to each and every one of our clients on a case by case basis.

We’ve recently again worked with our good friend and Make-Up Artist Lizzie Griffiths, operating in the North West of England on a bridal shoot for some big bridal wear designers, with some of our real life clients acting as the models – well our clients were jumping at the chance actually when we asked them if they would like to.

We have no hesitation in referring Lizzie, especially to our brides, their bridesmaids and Mother’s – she is very personable, always goes the extra mile, and uses the most amazing brands and techniques to create her looks.

All of our brides and clients and models, have had nothing but praise for the make-up and advice they’ve received on photography sessions they’ve booked with us where Lizzie has been either hired as our staff MUA or been referred to our customers and then been booked directly.
